We have invented a self-powered Piezo-Floating Gate (PFG) sensor that provides zero-maintenance health and usage monitoring by scavenging energy for sensing, computation and storage from embedded strain variations.

Zero-maintenance sensors: health and usage monitoring without any batteries or energy storage.
Zero-downtime sensors:  usage events (mechanical strain) directly power the sensor.
Zero-power sensors: usage and fatigue data stored in non-volatile memory.
